# Overview LIFE - a Swasth alliance, open source project has partnered with various initiatives and alliances to solve challenging problem statements around COVID-19. LIFE (a Swasth initiative), CRIA and other partner initiatives/alliances are working together to build an **ecosystem of smaller taskforce teams**/projects working on independent problem statements. We directly partner with initiatives based on the kind of project they are working on. Our primary focus is on ensuring that we enable an ecosystem of database-related initiatives. We envision a world where verified information sitting on one database is made use of by every other platform providing help. You get an opportunity to pass on the knowledge of your verified leads to someone who wouldn't have been able to otherwise. **Access user feedback:** With the help of our frontend feedback systems we will be able to give you specific data on which information has been reported by the public, which contact has been downvoted significantly as not helpful. You could then get your volunteers to check, remove, or update the same. **Access the wider pool of database:** You can use our API to integrate other verified data into your website, bot, google sheet etc. This way you can provide a larger database to your team. **Database generation:** Once we allocate a particular database division to you (for example - Oxygen+Bangalore) in case we come across relevant information from any other database, we pass on the data to you regularly to add to your database. You could use it as a raw lead, which could then be verified. This will be absorbed by the API and will be shown on the website. **Volunteer-Ops automation:** We could provide you with several options to automate your internal verification operations. Instead of having to give access to your entire database to a large number of volunteers for volunteers. We could provide you support in the form of an app that will absorb your data and give only unverified leads to volunteers to verify in a self-assist, self-serve manner. You can then have as many volunteers using that app to reduce your backlog of unverified leads. **Access resources to support:** We could connect you to volunteer providers, fundraising organisations, tech resources, marketing and amplification opportunities and any other support as and when you may need from us. **Inter-initiative learning curve:** Coordination between initiatives will help us learn from each others' experiences. What is working out where. We could use the network to innovate and come together in a better manner, instead of working in silos. When supplies improve, they wish to be able to help agencies distribute to the correct places, logistics issue as you might imagine. There is a model they are trying to build but too many unknown variables/uncertainties. We are trying to build a model to predict demands on covid relief resources in coming days. Whenever supply side opens up (it will), we need a good way to distribute the supply to fulfil the demand. [LIFE ](http://liferesources.in/)majorly aims to **provide information** on **where to go, who to call** and **what to do** in *any stage of the covid crisis situation* you are in. Instead of building a 1-on-1 system of taking requests, we want to be able to build a **reliable** source of information you could **trust**. It is this sense of trust that we work with while dealing with our partners, alliances and volunteers. Come join this network of trust that we are building. LIFE was a merger of **Coronasafe**, **CovidFYI** into the **Swasth** alliance to use synergies and focus on smaller taskforces for each workstream. Aggregation across initiatives is happening through the **CIRA - Covid India Relief Alliance** founded by startup founders looking to combine strong forces to join hands. We are working as one team with several overlaps in projects, connecting people and organisations. Major reputed MNCs, Consulting, Startups, Covid relief organisations are directly a part of the network. We have been working on this since Mar-20, thus we are well connected to the entire ecosystem. ## Are you official? No. ## What are your sources? How is the data gathered for this project? We are collaborating actively with multiple database initiatives to obtain the best quality data. We also obtain significant data from crowdsourced channels like - forms submitted by viewers, twitter data, database submitted by independent organisations etc. Partner initiatives engaged in similar list creation have merged efforts with us to share their verified information. We are a group of dedicated volunteers who collaborate across initiatives to aggregate data with equal partnership. We empower the regional and niche initiatives who are doing a great job at creating, maintaining, verifying data. This is a cross initiative team that came together with one goal to create a unified database of highest quality to provide help to the BEST of our capabilities in such hard-times. If we are able to reduce the time taken to find a bed, oxygen, or any other support, if we are able to save lives and empower those who are on-ground trying to arrange resources to help others, our motive would be served. ## What we do not do? 1. **Plasma donor list:** We never collect or expose any personally identifiable data regarding the patients. 2. **Requests management:** We do not do 1-on-1 handling of cases. 3. **Profit or revenue generation**: We are an open-source volunteer-driven initiative. We operate entirely out of credits bestowed by generous organisations. No money is taken by us or our representative. 4. **Endorsements:** We like to stay independent. Thus we avoid endorsing a particular product, initiative. Only to be fair to the 10s of initiative who are a part of our alliance network. We verify information periodically, however, due to the size of data, please accept our apologies in case you do not find what you were looking for. We will continue to add, verify, clean the data. Current SPOC - Ashiya Ghosh This is the guide for one time data collation work to convert the Master DB into standard format, then merge all the resources into ONE sheet. Do not worry about it being correct or perfect, we can improve it with time Commonly asked questions: #### Each row has 2 states and 2 cities (A,B and H,I) which one to actually use? We have city name in all the rows not districts. Ans: We just want a district name.. Use all the 3 to guide you.We need to convert it to districts. Upto u how u wanna do it, when u wanna do it.. #### even though quantity available is a required field, it wont apply to plasma. Ans: Leave qty available blank; **An additional column POC is mentioned in the raw data. Should I be mentioning it?** Ans : Not needed. You can ignore the data Data Onboarding SPOC works on the following problem statement: 1. Can we make the district, state information - all in one sheet? So that volunteers can just add that page on their sheet, and do a look up or choice formula to just pick up district. 2. Some districts are absent from that sheet - Ahmedabad 3. Can you make it - a formula kind of sheet, that users can just copy and put it in their sub sheet. They will just have to link the district column. The data is already there on the district sheet. 4. Some districts are in 2 states. Since we will only have district column, it makes sense to write Bilaspur (CG) and Bilaspur (HP) as the district name. These need changes in the format sheet. 5. Need to change categories of verification status to - Available and verified, Unavailable but verified, Invalid, Unresponsive, Pending. And this needs to change to Choice instead of a string. 6. Also some are PAN India resources so district would be? Pan India data - for that just make a note of it and keep the district blank. instead of making a different sheet for pan India data - let us add one more option in district called "National'. Which will automatically know that this is national. Then district column will show national. And we can pick from the same linked-lookup list, don't have to do anything extraordinary here. 7. Pranshu: can u add your hospital and oxy sheet above to help ppl see the right way to do things? 8. some doctors are giving statewide teleconsultations, I'll keep the district column empty for them More such feedbacks I ll keep posting on the excel and here as comments. It is called Info-demic" ## What is this? An **SOP FAQ** of sorts to **guide** patients, attendants and family members on **what to do at the time of crisis in all possible situations -** is needed much more than ever. This will be in the form of blogs, infographic, videos etc. primarily displayed on Liferesources.in in the open-source [content ](http://docs.liferesources.in/)page. It could be used by anyone by ensuring proper credits. ## Why is this needed? I lead efforts at [liferesources.in](http://liferesources.in) where we provide contacts for oxygen, beds, plasma, doctor consultation, counselling, food, stay, helpline, etc. However, *even that is not helping at the time of crisis*. I am getting frantic calls of people looking for beds for their father, relative, friend, son... > It is disheartening to not be able to help even when you are sitting on a database of 10,000+ contacts. Inviting **public health professionals**, **social workers**, **individual volunteers**, **celebrities**, **content folks**, **researchers, administration folks** to write on this database to guide people. ## Operating model: We are operating out of a whatsapp group, started by startupsvscovid. We have revived it for this initiative. If you are (or know someone) doing something similar on creating FAQs/SOPs for people to find the best way to get help, please connect them to us (or vice versa). This content is open source and can be used with permission and credits. We are partnering with Swasth's internal content team to work together on this. We are looking for similar initiatives to merge efforts and build a Wikipedia or University for all things Covid. ## How to join the team?
